Wiki Discussion

This page should be used to discuss issues with the wiki. If you're working on a particular section and would prefer others to limit what they do there while you work on it, if you're having any issues, if you just want to let people know what you've been working on then feel free to add it to this page.

Old information can be deleted as necessary.

Note.. to "sign" your comments on this page, please type -- ~~~~ at the end of your comment and it will automatically add your name and the date.
Note 2: If you're replying to someone Else's comment indent your reply. See the Editing Guide if you're not sure how to indent but basically it just means you need to add : at the beginning of your reply.

Now up to date for episodes on all eight seasons! --EdL (talk) 23:57, 9 February 2017 (UTC)

I think we're now up-to-date on episodes, cast, crew and characters to the end of season 7. Just in time for season 8! -- EdL 08:36, 16 September 2015 (EST)

Thanks to whoever gave me permissions to edit without the two-step check! Also, this page (removed) is nothing but an ad, but I don't think I'm able to delete the whole page. Can someone else please do it? Thanks! --Pegship 08:45, 7 May 2015 (EST)

Deleted spam page, thanks for pointing it out. -- Admin (talk) 14:49, 8 December 2015 (UTC)

Not sure how often people read this page, but just wanted to mention a few things. First, thanks to Admin for "upgrading" my account :) The items that I have been working on since I started contributing are basically as follows: in each of the episodes beginning in Season 5, I've added a section called "Episode Analysis". This is basically a list of shortcuts to reviews for each episode as well as the most popular posts on the castleTV.net post-episode threads. I wanted to add this because I thought it would make it easier for "newbies" to "catch-up" on past episodes discussion/interpretation without slogging through thousands of posts; also for "veteran" posters to re-locate and reference key posts for future discussions. Also, I spent some time updating the Death Defying Moments and the Johanna Beckett Murder Board pages, which were both badly in need of updating when I found them.

Finally, I'm in the process of reorganizing/updating the pages which deal with cross-linked episodes. Previously there were three pages covering metaphors, foreshadowing, and episode links/callbacks which were mixed in with the "Interesting Bits" section of the Episodes navigation page; I've since split the callbacks page into two - one for callbacks and one for special Castle lexicon, and then I tried to better tie these pages together by grouping them together (along with the Johanna Beckett Murder Board) under a new "Cross-Linked Episodes" heading on the Episodes page. I am trying to blend in pre-existing material on these pages where appropriate (and deleting content that really doesn't fit with the theme of the page and would/should be already reflected elsewhere) with updates that I am adding. My goal is to make each page more distinct, yet complimentary to one another so that there's less redundancy/ambiguity between them. In the future, I would like to move any callbacks, foreshadowing, etc. that are listed as "Trivia" on each individual episode page to their appropriate cross-linked episode page, and then replace those references on the individual episode pages with links to the cross-linked episode pages (I hope I'm making sense here). That way, all of the callbacks, foreshadowing, etc. material will be in centralized locations but readers will still be able to find that material through the individual episode pages.

Please let me know if you have any questions/concerns/comments about anything I've been working on. Thanks!

Someone wiped out the rather lengthy list of recurring characters I had compiled. --Nev827

You may notice I changed the menu around a bit today, added a section for fan community to cover stuff like fan history, awards etc and links to fan websites etc. There's a lot of work to do to expand on this section. If you've got any suggestions as to other things to add to the main menu please feel free to let me know -- Admin 18:35, 14 January 2012 (CST)

It's probably obvious, but I spent some time working on the site yesterday and updated the look to fit with the new look of CastleTV.net, I also added a section down the bottom that will automatically add links to "what links here", "related changes" etc that I hope will be useful not only to editors but also to visitors to the wiki. I've also fixed the search buttons and switched the order putting search first because I think that's what people tend to use more. The "Go to Page" works when you type in something ... eg, Nathan Fillion and it takes you directly to the page with that title. -- Admin 19:11, 16 January 2012 (CST)

Welcome to Fredvries who's been making some contributions this week! -- Admin 01:52, 18 January 2012 (CST)

Finally got the full episode summary for Til Death Do Us Part posted. Hopefully, I'll get the summary for Dial M for Mayor posted today or tomorrow, as well as quotes and pictures. Sorry it all took so long. --Nev827 15:19, 21 January 2012 (CST)

Just posted the full episode summary for Dial M for Mayor. Rkcaskett, I hope you don't mind that I added a blurb on Captain Gates' page about her father and uncles being cops and about what she told Beckett as to why she went to work for Internal Affairs. I'm sorry if this steps on your toes. I'll work on getting the quotes and pictures posted tomorrow. --Nev827 22:28, 21 January 2012 (CST)

The nature of a wiki is that anyone can add anything so I don't think that's an issue really Admin 00:35, 22 January 2012 (CST)

I started working on a Significant Dates page -at the moment I'm basically in the process of gathering all the important info but I think the page will need to be re-worked at some stage as more of a "timeline". - Admin 08:15, 8 February 2012 (CST)
