Quotes[edit]

Beckett: Oh, God, shoot me now.
Castle: I'd rather not. What's up?
Beckett: Anson Klemp has just been promoted to captain. He's gonna run the 19th.
Castle: Who is Anson Klemp, and why hasn't he changed his name?

Castle: You know what you've got? Patterson Syndrome.
Beckett: Patterson Syndrome?
Castle: Every time I write a bestseller, Patterson writes, like, six. It's maddening, but comparing myself to him doesn't make me write any faster.

Castle: So, unbeknownst to anyone, Henry sets his eyes on an X5. He gets the alarm codes. But, in a fateful error, he steals the car of this woman. (Points at sketch) A Triad assassin.
Beckett: An assassin? Really? Again?

Castle: So, you mean to tell me she got both your guns?
Ryan: Hey, you weren't there She was fast. Mean, Like, crazy fast.
Esposito: Please. She ain't all that.
Castle: And yet she got both your guns.

Castle: (shaking Zhang's hand): Hi, I'm Castle. (pointing to Beckett). We're partners. Actually, we're also married.
Zhang: Interesting arrangement.
Castle: Yeah! This is going to be fun, this little threesome here. (Beckett looks up sharply) Er, investigatively speaking. I didn't want to ... didn't mean to ... I'm not trying to imply that ...
Beckett: (heading for the door) Quit while you're behind.
Castle: Yeah.

Beckett: Did you know she was the youngest officer to make chief inspector? She has cleared more murders than anyone in Hong Kong PD history.
Castle: OK, so she's good at her job.
Beckett: Not just that. (Finds pic on phone.) Take a look at her husband. Action movie star.
Castle: Yes, well, I'm a highly paid novelist.
Beckett: What about the kids? (Finds another picture) Cute, huh?
Castle: (looking) Aaaww! (Beckett rolls her eyes) ... I've seen cuter.

Beckett: Did you see that? She might have just broken this case. With a wi-fi sign.
Castle: Yes, yes, I'm impressed. Are you happy?
Beckett: No. Castle, she's just like me. Only better!

Castle: He lied about knowing Henry. This guy's into it up to his bolo tie.

Esposito: Take a seat, Castle.
Ryan: Let me tell you a little something about life. You see what you did there, Castle? Rookie mistake.
Castle: What'd I do?
Ryan: You tried to stop her. I mean, Jenny - she's got a girls' night and I'm totally fine with that. See, in a marriage, you have to give your partner some space.
Castle: OK, Ryan. This is my third marriage. I think I know what I'm doing.

Beckett: So, team leader, wife, mom ... Isn't it a struggle to do it all?
Zhang: The trick is to not struggle but to find balance. The moment you think it's a struggle, that's when you fall.

Beckett: She does it all, she has it all, and to top it off, she's gorgeous.
Castle: Yes, she is.
Beckett: Wait a minute - you think she's gorgeous?
Castle: I ... was just agreeing with you.
Beckett: OK ... But did you think it before I said it?
Castle: Nooo...
Beckett: Oh my God, I haven't felt like this since I had pimples. I'm insecure!

Zhang: You wanna know about being balanced? My husband and I are separated. I'm not the mother I should be. You think I'm this amazing cop, that I have it all together. But I don't. I'm the reason that Henry's dead.

Zhang: Growing up Henry was always there for me, protecting me. And when he needed me I was too busy. I am always too busy for everything that really matters.

Castle: Believe me, Beckett has plenty of experience taking a bullet for other people doing stupid things. Hell, she's married to me.

Beckett: Well, whatever is next, I don't want to have to compromise my priorities to get there. (Taking Castle's hand) And I never want to be guilty of leaving behind what matters most.
Castle: You cannot leave behind what is always at your side.
Beckett: Did you just make that up?
Castle: Yeah, why?
Beckett: (Jumping on him) You are so much better than Patterson.
