Hanelle Culpepper studied film at USC and as one of her earliest jobs worked as an assistant to writer and director Callie Khouri (the creator of Thelma and Louise and Nashville) on Khouri's directorial debut, Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. Her work as a director was mainly in short films and TV movies, and she also made the thrillers Murder on the 13th Floor and Within. In the last few years, she has turned her attention to TV, directing episodes of 90210, Criminal Minds and Revenge, among others.
