A Raging Storm (Short Story)

Richard Castle continues the story of Derrick Storm's first mission after being brought out of retirement in this second instalment of a three-part series of short stories, or novellas.

From Amazon.com: Days after being brought out of retirement to investigate a kidnapping, Derrick Storm has a dead US senator on his hands, an assassin to track down, and nearly six billion dollars' worth of gold bars--hidden by the Communist Party somewhere in the former USSR--to uncover. Teaming up again with FBI agent April Showers, Storm must talk to Ivan Petrov, a secretive millionaire who has ties to the assassination, coordinates for the gold, and a mole leaking information to the Russian government from within his inner circle. And while the CIA mission is getting heated, it's nothing compared to the growing sexual tension between Storm and Showers...

References to Castle Episodes, Cast, Crew[edit]

  • Looking back on his faked death, Storm recalls of Clara Strike: "She'd watched in disbelief as the light in his eyes dimmed. He'd reached out for her, and she'd taken his hand, squeezing it for the very last time." In Hell Hath No Fury, Castle reads the last scene of Storm Fall to an audience in a bookstore, which goes as follows:
'She stood there in stunned disbelief as the light in his eyes dimmed. He reached out for her and she took his hand, squeezing it for the very last time. She felt her heart stop a beat, and in that moment, she knew he was gone.
Darkness fell across the face of the city, and across her face as well. Good, she thought, as the wind gathered up her hair. No one will see my tears.'
